What is yoga therapy?

Yoga Therapy is a personalized therapeutic application of yoga, combining movement, breathwork, and mindfulness to support both mental and physical well-being. Unlike a typical yoga class, it is customized to address specific concerns, such as:

Physical health: Chronic pain, tension, injury recovery, postural imbalances, and mobility support
Emotional and mental well-being: Stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, and nervous system dysregulation
Mind-body connection: Enhancing body awareness, nervous system regulation, and overall resilience

Sessions may include:
✔ Gentle movement and postures (asana) to improve flexibility, strength, and ease pain
✔ Breathwork (pranayama) to calm the nervous system and support lung and heart health

Each session is facilitated by our Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) Michele Tsihlas and tailored to your unique needs. One-on-one private sessions provide highly individualized support, while small group classes offer a shared healing space. Sessions are gentle, accessible, and adaptable to all experience levels.

Yoga Therapy Sessions

Therapeutic Yoga Rehab
A therapeutic yoga rehab class focuses on gentle, mindful exercises designed to improve mobility, relieve tension, and enhance overall well-being. It combines techniques from yoga, stretching, and functional movement to address specific needs, such as improving posture, relieving pain, and increasing flexibility. This class is ideal for anyone looking to move with more ease and comfort, whether recovering from an injury or simply seeking a more balanced body.

Yoga for Neurodiverse Children
This class is designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their accompanying adults, focusing on the therapeutic benefits of yoga. Through gentle movements and calming practices, yoga helps improve physical and emotional health, addressing issues like gastrointestinal distress, sleep disorders, and hyperactivity. It promotes better behavior regulation and enhances engagement through multisensory learning. Yoga also helps reduce stress, fostering calmness, resilience, and self-regulation, ultimately improving the quality of life and social interactions for children with ASD.
